Remove air mattress for winter?

Hi all,
I did a search but could not find a discussion.
Do you remove the air mattress on the sofa / sleeper during winter?
I heard they develop leaks if not removed?

mine has stayed in the 5er since we bought it in 2009. It was just used for 7 days. Knock on wood.

Our last 2 campers had air mattresses and we never removed them in winter. Neither even developed leaks.

I was not sure but can always count on the board for the right answer.
I will leave it in like the factory and dealers do.
