Slide out leaking!

2019 Freedom Express 292bhds
After driving a major rainstorm, the remnants of hurricane Sally, The carpet in the slide out is wet. Is that possibly just the result of a bad seal? or a one time event of an horrendous rain storm?
Anyway idea how to keep that from happening again?

Thanks in advance!

Its really hard to tell if I were you I would check the window drains and inspect the slide seals for proper fit.

One of the reasons I opted for no slides in my new TT.

Do you have slideout toppers? If so, are there any holes in them?

Where do your rain gutters dump water? Could the water exiting your rain gutters be getting in through the slideout openings?

The rubber sweeps wont keep out a deluge.

Your coach seems too new to have slideout roof caulk failing.

If you were driving and heavy rains you can get water forced in through seals or the window drains . i never have had any leaks but while driving in heavy rain one window allowed water in through the drain channels . has only happened once but can happen while driving . Lots of water being thrown up by the wheels and off the TV along with turbulent winds pushing water up and through things that would normally not lea

With slides in look for any light around the area where the floor and slide out come together. In our previous Hemisphere we had a dime sized opening where the outside seal over the front tire wasn't fully sealing. Unfortunately we also have the same issue with our new 2021 Cedar Creek 5th wheel

I missed the part about after driving in a major rain storm, but were you parked during any part of the rainstorm?

You're going to have to do some forensic analysis on the origin.

I didn't see any mention of how you're drying things out. I've used a wet dry vacuum followed by dehumidifiers for at least a week. In the meantime I'd be inside the area that's wet during a rainstorm looking for active dripping. With a dry carpet to start with it will easier to locate the origin of the leak by touch and sight.

When open or closed? I have that same gap when open, but my dealer tells me that is “normal”

I had this issue with 2 Trailers so far, both are Coachmen 320BHDS. Water is coming in from under the fender well, not a great seal under the slide there. Some people have opted to install aluminum angle iron on floor of slide and attach foam seal to that so it presses against frame body. Some use extra thick foam only. Good luck solving your issue.

I had the same problem with my Apex, I adjusted the bottom of the slide inward. There are a few write ups here on the site. Also you can contact forest river and have them fixit.

slide leaks

i have to ask the stupid question
was there any debrea that could of got stuffed in to the top sweepers seals .
you may have to fiscally lift up the seal with the slide all the way out.

have you sprayed any seal rejuvenator on the seal's ..

was the slide in all the way No obstructions
there pretty good about keeping out water even driving in a downpour .

reason i ask the stupid question is....

i bought my 2014 2608ws from C.W in Ny thinking that all of these things would of been takin care off ...
but apparently it wasn't there job to check. i was not happy!!
so bear in mind The RV dealers dont do and getaway with a lot of crap...
are we having fun yet

Dealer told me that too. After looking at others on another lot that were sealed. They did the same fix that I saw on the other units. No more water. Only happens in heavy downpours.
