Updating the Kitchen Faucet

Hi,

So I bought a new kitchen faucet from Home Depot to replace the flimsy one that came on my Freedom Express. But I am having a hard time installing it. The faucet comes with 3/8" fittings and from what I can tell the fitting on the TT is 1/2" so I need a conversion fitting for it. However I have not been able to find a 1/2" to 3/8" male to male threaded nipple for it.

For those that have replaced your faucets, did you have the same measurements and were you able to find the right parts? Am I missing something else with it?

Thanks for the response but unfortunately those won't work. I need a male to male fitting for it. Although I hadn't thought about a hose like that so maybe I'll have to see what I can find.

I bought male to male fittings at my local ACE hardware store along with new lines to connect the plumbing and new faucet works great

3/8" . Why not just return it and get a fixture with 1/2" connections and be done with it?

I had the same issue installing a new faucet in my parent's kitchen, old faucet was 1/2" IPS, new faucet expected to be connected to a 3/8" flare male fitting. I cut the PEX and used a pair of sharkbite to 3/8" flare quarter turn shutoff valves to make the final connection. Easy, and now there are reliable turn-off valves in place.

You don't mention if the faucet input is rigid or flex lines, or whether the unit side is PEX all the way to the 1/2" or if there's flex there and something different further upstream. Those details might suggest other options.

3/8x1/2 pipe nipples aren't all that hard to find. Even my local TrueValue has them in stock in brass. You could also use a 3/8 nipple plus a 3/8x1/2 bushing to get to the same place. Try this:

Could be a reducing fitting or it may be in the form of a hose with different fittings on the ends.
But it can be done and many change to residential faucets with only a few modifications.
Usually hardware or big box stores can help you match it up.
Check on return policies in case you have items purchased you don't need.

Late to the game here, but the easiest thing to do would have been to just buy two 1/2”x3/8” push-on shutoffs. Cut the PEX, push the new shutoff onto the PEX, then connect the 3/8” from the faucet to the shutoff.

Finally resolved my issue. I had decided to go with new Sharkbite values so I could get the correct fittings but when I asked a friend that does some plumbing work about it he said he's stop by and take a look at it. He had all the crimpers and everything to cut the pex and put a valve on using a crimp so that's what we did. Works great.
