Sure enough, there was a dent in the door and sure enough again, it was the size of our bumper. Hubby and I have no idea how that happened, but it did. We were more embarrassed than upset, as we are not the type to run from an accident. Turns out, it was cheaper to buy the new door at $280 than to repair it for $500-$800 depending on what they found when they opened it up. We are headed to FL with friends for a month and will be sitting on the beach tomorrow afternoon... incident forgotten.
Thanks so much!!

There's another thread called "Rookie Mistakes" that I contributed to with my brand new trailer. Pretty common to bang up your new trailer doing something stupid. Here was mine:

Don't feel too bad, at least you got to do a successful maiden voyage. When I bought my 31' TT, I didn't get off the lot before I bent up my deployed steps against the finance person's brand new mini van just before I went inside to do the pipework. 😥

Much as described above I folded the entire side of a Toyota Tundra all the while punching a nice size hole clear into the front of our fiberglass front end of TT when I jack-knifed the two together making an entirely too tight turn! EVERYBODY has Boo-Boo's! Those who say they haven't are either lying to all of us or they haven't been granted the opportunity just yet! Keep rolling!

No joke. Question, do you think they'll be able to remove the scratches in the side panels or will the trailer need a new side?

This may not have helped you get the best interest rate...just saying...
We are now pulling a 40' 5th wheel that is 5' longer and WAY taller than our Windjammer. The DW and I look like owls in the truck windshield looking for low clearance issues!

That all depends. It almost looks like the fiberglass is bent inwards like the lower aluminum panel? If the fiberglass is bent inward, you most likely bent the wall studs. (Which IMO, would be a total loss or 15k + repair)
If only the lower aluminum, door, awning and some trim needed replaced, also fiberglass repair and paint you are probably looking around 7k.
Yes, they can repair the scratches and match the paint.
A big oops yes, a great story to post here in a couple years when another newbie/veteran does the same thing, priceless.
It happens, roll with it.

No sir, it's flat thankfully. I put a level all over it and it was flat.

Wow : Don't feel bad. I pulled into a gas station last fall and got my generator exhaust pipe bent back on the display on the island.. the mirrors cleared but I totally forgot that the exhaust pipe extends out the side of our motor home further. Then this fall I put my foot on the sky light on the roof when putting the cover over the unit. (Pretty dumb on my part.) So new sky light to be installed this spring if it ever warms up her in British Columbia.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I loved your pics showing you guys enjoying the trailer life! This is just a bump in the road.. I've run over curbs, campsite markers, ripped off my black tank connection one time when I rolled off the ramps leading out of our driveway.. **** happens man! Just love the good times and don't sweat this stuff.

Like 10 pages of comments sum up. You tow long enough, something will happen. Can yours be fixed? Absolutely!

Last summer on the way to the Smokies, someone decided to change lanes into the side of my 6 month old, 42 ft long Chaparral. Said she panicked and "didn't see it."

Here's the results.

I got to drive on and enjoy my vacation. Her car, not so much. It was totaled.

A trip back to the factory last Fall made it all better.

Vizjedi.... That middle pic looks like you were almost there. I think I remember that area.

When you got yours repaired, did you contact Coachmen? Reason I ask is because maybe Dixiedawg might consider doing the same? That way he knows it's done right.

First off, welcome to the forums!!

Been there, done similar things. It happens!

X2 on the other comments: This is a insurance job. The only bad news is, from the pictures it looks like your rig is unusable in its current condition and your rig is likely to be in the shop for a few weeks (and camping season just started )

So, get to your dealer ASAP and see what their repair schedule looks like!

Just the other day I went out and bought my wife a new bicycle. I had it on the roof rack. When I got back to our campsite, I pulled in UNDER THE AWNING as usual. Needless to say, I didn't fit.

Mistakes happen to everyone.
