2015 Coachmen Freedome Express 281RLDS

Towing with a 2014 Dodge 1500 Ram with 5.7 Hemi and the full up tow package.

We also own a 2014 Mobile Suites Estate 5th wheel in which we full time. The MS is our 'home'. This Coachmen is our 'camper'. LOL!

Last Wednesday we traded in our Micro Lite 21FBRS for a 2015 Coachmen Freedom Express 254DSX. We really love it! It's perfect for us. We camped last weekend at St Andrews State Park Panama City, FL. Everything worked great!

Picked up our new Palomino Columbus 3650TH 1st of August and love it. Been out in it a few time and our most recent camping in it was Sunday night because the A/C went out in the house. LOL 98 deg. outside but 68 deg. in the new 3650TH Toy Hauler!!! Nothing like having a second home.

We've owned two Coachmen TT's. Our first was a 2004 249QB. At 25 FT. It seemed like it was large enough for the two of us. We did a lot of camping for two years. It was a show special when we bought it and didn't have any extras like a spare tire & carrier, Stab jacks, electric tongue jack, slide etc. We added every thing. We were newbies and didn't know anything. We didn't have a single repair issue with the TT. We traded it for a 2006 29 RLS(1 slide). A lot more room. No major repairs either. We thought that this would be our last TT, it wasn't. We didn't go with a Coachmen this (Last) time. We now have a 2014 FR Wildwood 27RKSS. Great trailer with all the new bells & whistles. Coachmen is a well built brand and served us well. Anyone who owns one should be proud owners.

We are considering trading in our 2012 RPOD, and purchasing a Coachmen Catalina 24RBS (2015) a new model for Catalina. We checked a number of RV dealers in person and online. The best price we have seen is in the $18-19,000 range, with an MSRP of around $28K.
Question: would it be wise to put a down payment on this unit and Lock In the price now, or wait till next March and purchase?
We will be trading in our 2012 Toyota Highlander for a Ford 150 eco boost.

Your suggestions are appreciated

We bought our 243RBS last March. During this month, the area RV Dealers all have an open house with prices "slashed'to a respectable level. So that's a toss-up.

The F150 Eco Boost will be a beast on towing this trailer. I'm going to upgrade my TV at the first of the year. I am leaning towards an F250 6.7, or maybe even the F350. The only reason is that I will be buying used and the price difference between the diesel and the eco boost is negligible. I just really like the big trucks.

That said, I've never owned one, so my opinion could change.

The only issue so far is that I haven't been able to take it out as much as I want. We have been out on 6 trips, with no problems.

I really need to buy an extension ladder to get on the roof. I'm borrowing one now.
