Winterizing a 392mbl

Hello all,

Maybe a dumb question but I was getting ready to winterize my new trailer and I can't figure out how to get the antifreeze into the system. the manual that I have for the camper is no help as it says to fill the tank to above the pump input, but it gives no indication on how to do this. I assume that it has something to do with the winterization fresh tank override in the attachment but, how do you get the antifreeze into this port? Is there supposed to be a special hose attachment?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is going to get cold soon up in Maine and I need to get this done.

Also, does anyone use air to blow out the lines first? I have an adapter that can hook to the city water input. Will that successfully blow out the lines?

Grasp that little white hose connection in the upper right corner next to the light lens. Pull it gently. It should come out far enough to reach all the way down into your antifreeze bottle.

Will that suck the antifreeze out of the bottle when I turn on the pump? Or do I still need to pour it into that hose somehow?

I don't believe that 'pulls out' but I bet you can attach a short piece of garden hose to the connector and go to your antifreeze jug.

The only problem is, the RV is 4 hours away so I can't try things very easily and I need to have a plan for when I am up there in 2 weeks to "get it done". I would think that this is a standard operation so the manufacturer make it at least semi-convenient, or at least provide detailed instructions on how to perform the task.

I am going to bring an air plug up with me as a backup method.

Hopefully someone that has a trailer like this will chime in and let me know how it is done.

I said to pull it out because mine pulls out on my Wildcat. You can’t attach a garden hose directly because it’s not a garden hose fitting. I just stick mine in the jug. Here’s how mine looks:

OK... that's a faucet pipe connection.

Any 1/2" pipe thread adapter would fit.

Something like this with a short hose...

So you're still 100% sure his tube won't pull out like mine and others do, right?

Nope. Never said I was 100% sure so I can't still be!

I'm just going by the blue PEX line and elbow I can see behind the fitting.

I am going to grab a fitting and a hose and bring it up there with me to see if I can make that work.

This panel is just like mine. A couple of notes on this discussion;

The port at top right is just a connector, it does not pull out. My 360IBL came with a 1.5'ish piece of hose w/connector (it was in the gray envelope with the trailer manuals)

Below are my notes that I use so I don't forget anything;
-drain 3 lowpoints (hot/cold & freshwater tank)
-drain hot water heater (remove plug/open pressure relief valve)
-open all faucets (including W/D connections & Flush toilet for a several seconds to allow water to drain that line)
-Run pump for 30 sec to allow it to clear
-Use 30psi on your compressor max
-make sure all pressure is relieved on the system before turning the valves on the wetbay panel
-i found blowing the plumbing goes much quicker when the hot water heater is in bypass mode (as I have a small 6 gal pancake compressor)
-cycle all valves to clear the water from each plumbing circuit
-be sure to blow out the black tank flush circuit
-put pink RV antifreeze in:
-----waste tanks (I put in 1/3 gal in each of 3 waste tanks)
-----toilet bowl to keep toilet seal wet through the period
-----each drain (keep Ptrap from freezing)

I have not used Pink in any of the plumbing since our temps don't go below upper teens for many hours. Also we camp monthly throughout the winter so I focus my efforts on clearing the plumbing with air.

Also, don't forget to fill batts with distilled water and charge before storing.

chaps - as always thanks for the great info. Doing my winterizing today... panel picture attached. Got this:

So you use that fitting when you do yours?

With regards to the "winterization fresh tank override"... what is this for, to get anti freeze in to the system? So you don't use this?

I'm thinking of just blowing out and doing anti freeze in the traps and some in the holding tanks. I'm in eastern PA, so it will get cold. Is doing both the blow out and anti freeze in entire system necessary?
