AC unit

So my unit is a 2019 Puma! When I first got it the air was always on high and seemed odd! So a friend came over and saw that an air baffle was loose! So he secured with some hardware and things went well! Last year I noticed that the AC freezing up when it hit auto low! So I would kick it off and like the next day things would be ok! I had an RV tech come by and he said yes the motor is going bad but it still has life! So today I had it on I heard some rubbing noises off and on, then I heard it freeze and it’s off and it will check it later! Thanks

Update

So here is my situation last year I had an RV tech come by and check why my unit was freezing up on the low setting! So he came out and said the motor was going out and shouldn’t worry about it until the next yr, this one, so when my unit wouldn’t come on at all he determine that the motor had in fact gone out! So he replaced the motor and we went to power the unit up! We put a load on it to go to 55 the unit wouldn’t work! We had determined that the control box shorted out, so with that replaced and installed correctly seems something else went south! Now I am having to get a new ac unit which probably been changed first off! Life goes on!

Sounds like you need to get a new RV tech.

As many people will tell you, the air conditioning units in these rigs are not meant to be repaired. A friend had his replaced and reports much better cooling with the new unit. He doesn't think the old one performed as good even when new. Enjoy.

I would change the capacitor first , what brand ac ? freeze sensor in place ? my guess is the motor was fine as was your control box now new ac . get a second opinion !

Update about my AC system

Good evening after much debacle on this AC System over the past year with one blower motor change out and one control board change out my Rv tech support team finally decided and replaced the unit last Friday! Now it is brand new with a two year warranty from Dometic! Glad it finally got done as the weather took a change from mild to hot! Have a good one!

Fantastic news! Those ac units are not meant to be repaired. Glad they finally saw the wisdom in replacing it.
