garage door leaks water

Sitting here camping in a rain storm waiting for the rain to quit so thought I'd walk around and make sure this new TH isn't leaking anywhere. Found water running down the top corner of the garage ramp. Guess I'll be looking into that after the weather clears up. Everything else seems to be water tight but haven't looked in the compartment doors outside yet, its still coming down hard. The water leak on the ramp is coming from the top trim of the door so maybe some caulking will do the trick if I'm lucky. You might check your new toy haulers for water leaks. Mine is only a month old now. I did order a 50 amp Progressive hard wire surge protector for these stormy days and bad camp ground power issues.

First thought would be the bulb seal usually installed around the doors, but I'm not really familiar with the Columbus TH. Our cargo trailer has at least a 1.5 inch gutter above the door, which I'm sure helps a little. Do you have anything like that above the door? You'd think they'd put something to help.

Thanks I'll check the lights. Above the ramp door is awning, the ramp door also makes a patio and above the awning there are 2 spot light. I think between the awning and the ramp are 5 or 6 running lights so maybe like you said there not sealed good which would make it for an easy fix. Still raining so can't look at it right now. Guess I'll keep watching this old movie for now. Thanks for the tip BigJohn. Oh I have a Haulmark trailer that looks about like yours. Nice trailer.

By bulb seal I was referring to the rubber D-seal around the door. Sorry about that. Seems like the awning above the door would servce a similar function to the gutter.

Oh ok this leak looks like its coming from above the door in the corner about 1 1/2" to the side of the ramp door. I'm sure in the day light I'll be able to see where they missed a little caulking during assembly.

Check everything good, water is not a freind to RVs. You need to stop it and stop it fast. I notice I was getting delamination at tht bottom of my ramp door. I was inside while it was raining and water was pooring in through one of the latch bolts. There was no buty tape behind the latch.

Found my leak; there was a place about 3"s long at the top of the ramp door on the outside of the frame on the expanded aluminum metal that wasn't caulked by the factory, guess there tube of caulking ran out so they left it uncaulked. Fixed it! Sorry I forgot to post an update sooner.
