You can see in the first picture there are two different stop switch locations, I moved mine up where you can see those screws. Be sure to remove both stop screws. I missed one and bent the rail at he other screw.

One of the other things I might try if needed will be to move the complete system up if I can verify there to be enough framing.

I've got the lower bed out but here is a look at where the brackets are with the beds fully raised. Be sure if you raise the stop switch to make sure the bed is out of the way of the motor.

Stop switch is below the motor inside of the track.

I just moved the stop switch up on mine and I ALSO forgot the screw on the other side of the track. Broke the screw and a piece of the screw wedged in between the bracket and rail. Managed to get it loose after hammering on the bracket. I was planning on taking the top bunk out but after that happened I just decided to leave it in.
Did manage to gain a bit more clearance under the bunks tho..

Installing video cables to front bedroom.

I finally found the route for the video cables to the front bedroom. When I had to replace the cover over the bathroom vent, I found the routing under the vent moulding.

I am going to install my HDMI and video cable by going through the bathroom.

Rear patio

We added a rear patio to TH. We put two jack stands to support the rear deck, a step ladder, and used the ramp locking rails as a hand rail for the patio.

You do need to be a little careful at the but it is still nice on cool days.

Nice NG2951,

I thought about trying something like that but was afraid my door would not handle the weight.

Creative patio mod!

That's the most appealing aspect to me with the larger TH...the rear ramp patio with fence & awning, nice extension on indoor space

Keyed Switch On Bunk Beds for Child Safety

We picked up a lightly used 2013 Puma 351 last week and I'm already making mods before our first trip. My kids are now 5 and 7, so they love to push buttons, to keep them safe when my head is turned I replaced the standard rocker switch for the power bunks with a keyed switch. I transferred the keyed switch from our old Travel Trailer to the 351, that is why the cover plate is Brass.

I bought the keyed switch on Amazon and figured out the correct wiring using an ohm meter then soldered the wires and crimped on spade connectors. I filed the Brass cover plate slightly to fit the keyed switch and used a piece from a box to fill in the gaps above and below the switch. I then pulled off the factory rocker switch and installed my spade connectors.

In the next few weeks I will be installing a master keyed switch and required high amp relays in the kitchen to kill power to the slide, awning, and power bunks. That will eleminate the need for this setup, but I though I'd share anyway.

Raising the Power Bunks

Like others I needed to move the rear bunks up to fit some taller toys. As others have done I moved the limit switch to the next highest setting, this gained me 2.5 inches, going from 69" to 71.5" at the bottom of the bottom bunk, just enough for a none lifted golf cart. In the future I will be flipping the side brackets or adding spacers to gain a couple more inches. Also, we won't be using the top bunk, so I'll remove the top matress when necessary to clear the A/C unit.

Warning, don't forget to move the two stop screws on either side of the rail right next to the limit switch. I didn't find any stop screws or obstructions on the other rails, but it would be a good idea to look carefully to avoid any damage.

"Stop" screws that also need to be moved. You can see in this photo that the limit swich has been moved up, but the stop screws have not been moved yet. There is another screw on the other side of the rail.

My square bit driver for moving the "stop" screws, I had to open the rear ramp door to get enough clearance on the back side of the rail

Flipped Bathroom Door on Puma 351 - allows bathroom acces with slide in

Our kids are 5 and 7, so we make a lot of pit stops while on the road. The only flaw in the Puma 351 from our perspective was the inability to access the bathroom without opening the slide. Otherwise the floorplan and price point were perfect for us.

I originally considered installing a bi-fold door, but after looking a the diminsions I decided to flip the bathroom door upside down.

I removed the bathroom door (leaving the hinges on the door) and flipped it top to bottom. I then supported the door at the proper height and with the hinges properly aligned against the door jamb and installed the screws in the hinges. I then closed the door to check the fit. I closed the door and opened it a few times and determined the location of the striker plate, I screwed it to the door jamb and double checked it's location. I then cut out the plastic door jamb and a little bit of the wood with a 1/2 inch wood chisel so the striker plate would sit flush and then screwed it down.

This allows the door to open out, but with with the opening towards the garage. When the slide is closed there has always been enough clearance to open the garage door fully, now we can also open the bathroom door enough for even an adult to enter and exit.

There are some old screw holes left in the door jamb, but you don't really notice them unless you are looking for them.

Looking from the garage through the garage door at the slide and newly installed bathroom door.

Has anyone upgraded their light bulbs inside their unit to LED lights? If so how do you like it, where did you get them, and what size you get? Thinking about upgrading mine. Thanks in advance

We do a lot of dry camping so I changed out all the lights in the bedroom, bathroom & living area with LED's, as well as the porch light. Made a HUGE difference in power consumption. The lights are nice and bright but not too bright. I ordered most of them from a seller on eBay, 2011LED is the user name. They come from China but the shipping was fast, and the guy sent me the correct connectors at no charge when I ordered the wrong ones.
I am using the 48 LED bulbs in the overhead fixtures, If you need additional details on the exact bulb types etc let me know.

We may have spoken about this before, but has anyone added a ladder to their unit? Thinking about adding one in the off season unless I find an alternative that's easy to haul, like one that breaks down enough to put on back of the truck without taking up too much space.

This was my project for my last day of vacation. We wanted more space to hang clothes when we were parked or when we traveled without the toys in the back. I found this collapsible closet rod system on Amazon. It folds flat against the wall to allow clearance for the bunks.

We have been looking at making the same mods to our new Puma unleashed SBU27, I have questions. First, how are you securing your bike? We have an 09 ultra. Second, how do you close your ramp door with the top eyebolts in place, or do you remove them?

I was (I say that because I recently sold my Puma and bought a bunkhouse 5er) using the B&W Biker Bar http://www.turnoverball.com/products/motorcycle , its a great mount and held my 09 FLHX solid, you won't be disappointed.

The eye bolts actually were right outside of the door when it was up, I used the truck bed anchor point tie downs from Home Depot http://t.homedepot.com/p/Keeper-Blac...5652/203432519 , they have chrome also. They are 3/8" threaded so I used some all thread and drilled through the 2" square tubing that frames out the ramp door opening and bolted through that, the rubber seal on the door was right on the edge when the door was up, the cables were from WalMart http://www.osh.com/eng/product/brink..._cable/6810725 , this is it, couldn't find it on their site, the bottom eye bolts are called bed bolts, I got those on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , I turned them upside down and used a stainless washer and cap screw on the outside to "sandwich" that between the aluminum ramp door frame and sealed everything with silicone.

Zoom in on this pic and you'll see the anchor point on each side of the ramp door

Hope this helps!!

I pretty much figured that since it would have to handle some kind of toy plus its driver, it should be able to handle up to 4 adults nad still be around that weight.

In reality, you only have about enough space for two adults and some kids.

What you need to be aware of are the sharp edges on the top of the ramp. You need to put some blocks on those so someone does not cut themselves on it.

What I found really surprising is that with the door down on your typical campground picnic table the door is almost level. You can use the table as steps and lets you setup/close your patio in seconds.
