Questions about my 2013 Puma 356QLB

I have few questions about my 2013 Puma 356QLB

1. Can anyone tell me where this goes? It was laying in the storage compartment. Does it go to the passenger side LP bottle hold down?

2. These 2 hoses go from the battery compartment and go under the generator box and down to the frame.

Then then run along the frame to the rear where they tie into this, what is this?.

Thanks

The strap hanging on the door goes on top of the bottle and the wingnut will tighten the v shaped bracket into the small hole on the propane bottle. The other end of the strap should be bolted or screwed in to the frame work.
I'll try to get a pic of how it mounts this weekend.

I would've guess that you had a fueling station on your camper at one time if not there currently. I would guess that those lines went to it and maybe that is the fuel pump in the last pic.
Could be wrong on that though.

Congrats!!
We had a puma 5er before our current sabre and loved it!

Last pic looks like a crankcase carbon canister assembly for something. On an RV....beats me.

Thanks Miller Time. that part in last picture is attached to the same cross-member as the fuel pump for the fueling station. I thought that the PO might of had a portable generator setting on the ground up front as the generator compartment has no holes in it for fuel lines or electric cables??

Thanks Iwannacamp, should both bottles have the same clamp setup?

Oh ok, that's quite possible.

Yes they should. It should have that on top and the mid-clamp for each bottle.

The second picture is the fuel pump for the on board filling station that should be on the left year of the camper. We have a 2012 to haul our motorcycles around to rally and use the garage for the dogs when we are out and about. The is also a switch on the inside of the garage by the back door (not ramp) above the light switches for the garage lights. It took us a lot of trial and error to find that switch. Also there is a switch inside the where the fuel door to run the pump. Good luck and have fun, we love ours.

Thanks Lonerider

this looks like the fuel pump, it is bolted to the left frame rail just above the fuel door.

This is attached to the cross member closer to the right side, it appears one of the hoses run into the shell where the tank must be?

the two other hose that are in the battery box next to the generator box run into this they are the ones with the plastic wrap stuff on them. Does yours have the two hoses run to the front of the trailer? Mine has the switch labeled in the garage so I know where that one is, I hope "LOL"

Your unit is generator prepped.

What are the 2 lines in the 2nd picture of post #1?

The smaller line is the fuel supply line for a future generator. It connects directly to the onboard fuel cell. The larger line is the EVAP line connected to the carbon filter canister, being shown as the unknown black box in the 3rd picture of post #1.

There is no fuel pump on the supply line to the generator.
Your transfer switch is most likely located under the step going to the front bedroom. But it could be anywhere. Some units will have a junction box located in the battery compartment to wire the generator to the transfer switch others may not, meaning you will wire directly to the transfer switch if you decide to install a generator.

Top picture is the fuel pump. Bottom one is the carbon canister to capture the fuel vapors. It connects to the fuel tank and also one vent line runs up to the front for the generator. Be careful, of the two hoses that go to the front, one is a fuel supply line for the genny. If yours is not connected to anything, I would make really sure that both lines are solidly plugged. With the end of the fuel line on the ground, you could start a siphon that would empty the fuel tank.

My transfer switch is mounted in the cabinet beside/behind the power converter. As he said, it could be anywhere, but it will be mounted inline somewhere with the power feed from the shore power connection.

Thanks guys, great information.

The hoses do have what looks like about 1/4 20 bolts screwed in and clamped.

Here is a picture of the Transfer Switch

So if I were to hook up a generator would I have to turn on the fuel pump switch in the garage area?

The generator has its own fuel pump mounted inside the generator.
Its pulls the fuel from the tank.

It's best to keep the switch for the fuel pump in the garage and in the compartment beside the hose off unless you are actually pumping fuel from the hose in the compartment.

A 4.0 would be under powered if you want to run anything beside the AC at the same time. The 5.5 and 7.0 will run 2 AC's.

Any of the below ONAN model numbers will work.
5.5 HGJAA EFI
5.5 HGJAB EVAP
7.0 HGJAA EFI
7.0 HGJAB EVAP

With genprep there is a metal support frame under the bottom of the galvanized generator box which matches the bolt pattern of the ONAN 5.5 and 7.0 units. Its not a difficult install for a well seasoned mechanically inclined DIYer with knowledge of metal cutting, electrical wiring, and small engine skills.

The opening on my gen box is only 30.5" wide so the 5.5 and larger wont fit.
