140gal Fresh Water Tank only holding 50gal

We have a 2021 FQ2413 Stealth Toyhauler. According to our paperwork, and the manuals I found online, this model should have a 140gal fresh water tank. Yet, the sensor will read empty, the pump will act like water is running out...and we can still only pump 50 gallons into the fresh water tank before the sensor reads full and the water overflows out of the fill port/hole. Any ideas?

I wonder if that could be a misprint. Thats a lot of water! Over 1100 pounds! Usually, the grey tanks will be able to hold all of the fresh water. For instance, my camper has 50 gal of fresh water and 80 gal of grey.

I have NEVER heard of a tank that big. I think you need to take a closer look at your specifications.

I checked the specs on the FR WEB site and he is right. It states 140 gallons! Like I said, I think it is a misprint.

My 2021 Sandstorm 326GSLR has 140 gallons as well. Toyhaulers commonly come with much larger fresh tanks since they're often used for boondocking. My 2013 Stealth SK2112 had 100 gallons.

OP: The fresh tank is likely 2 tanks instead of 1 big one. There should be a tube that connects them. There may be an obstruction in that tube that isn't allowing water to flow into the second tank. Do you have an underbelly? If not, it should be easy to crawl under and see how your fresh tanks are configured.

edit: found this diagram online. Not sure of the unit it came from, but shows how 2 fresh water tanks are often tied together. Check to make sure the hose between the 2 tanks doesn't have an obstruction in it or is crimped.

You may also have a venting issue. The vent line / overflow tube should be pushing out quite a bit of air before the tanks are finally full and it starts pushing water out of the overflow. You can try to remedy this by filling the tanks very slowly, but that's not always successful depending on other variables.

There are a few threads out there on other RV sites where people will blow into the vent tube to clear some water that might be sitting in there, and then that will help release the pocket of air that's stuck. The tanks then take much more water. May also be that your vent line is crimped or is too long and allowing pockets of air to get stuck. Air likes to go straight up; your vent line shouldn't be doing loops or have big dips in its routing.

my 2016 puma t- hauler holds 100 gal. fresh. it pukes when filling up i just pull hose out , and you can hear it vurgle and air excape then reinsert hose and continue to fill it up. i cut off 3 ft of a white rv hose that the core cord broke . it helps filling up easier , and i use it on camp spigot at c- ground. no muddy hose. only use pump water ,never hook up to c-ground city tap. man next to me left camp ,hose on, toilet valve stuck open a little" brand new 5/wheel and 8 hours later poop water ran out the front door. turn off water when you go to town , or just use the pump like me.

OK up let me say this has nothing to do with answering the question. A toy hauler is something I would like to own, so I searched more info on this unit. I found that in addition to 140 gallon fresh water tank (1120 lbs.) it has a 35 gallon fuel tank (210 lbs.). To add my 1700 lbs. SxS puts the total at 3030 lbs. which is 273 lbs over the listed 2757 lbs. cargo weight. Yes they could be left empty or under-filled, but...
Makes me wonder how many times units like these get over loaded.

One possibility: I had a Safari Motorhome for 24years and it had a 100 gal tank but would start overflowing well before that as it got older. I removed it and discovered that the top of the tank sagged down a long ways which would not let me get it up to 100 gal. If I filled it fast that would get more in but then it would overflow for a long time

No activity and no follow up report from the OP.

If I offer advice on someone’s thread and they never follow up with the outcome it’s the last time I will off suggestions to that person.

LOL... get ready for lots of inactivity!
Rarely do folks report back once an issue is resolved.

It doesn't hurt to finish your suggestion with "Post back and let us know if this worked."

And some folks use the "Thanks" button with a short phrase to let the suggestor know his suggestion worked.
