17' Roo Water Heater Issues

My wife and I are Fall campers so I was just flushing the water system and tried to lite the water heater and could not get the pilot to lite. I purged the gas system by liting the stove all burners but the water heater is a no go. How much trouble is it to remove the heating element and check for spider web blockage? I am quite handy and don't mind the work but thought I would check with the pros first.

Take compressed air and blow things out. That or a bottle brush should do the trick

I'll try my compressor on it but not sure how that will work on the small gas lines that are bolted to the regulator and the sort.

Just blow out the burner tube. No need to remove any gas lines

Try a stick lighter on the pilot with oven burners lighted.

blowing out the burner tube did nothing but blow rust all over the place, problem is the pilot won't light. I'll try when I get home from work running the stove burners and then lighting the pilot. I don't think the pilot is getting gas thus the problem.

Ok lit the stove burners and tried to light the pilot and nothing. Does anyone know how to get this unit removed? I'm handy with tools used to be a mechanic years and years ago but would rather have someone who's done this for some input.

Any help is appreciated.
