2016 Flagstaff Classic Lite TT - Black Tank Flush

I have a 2016 Classic Lite travel trailer and am new to Rving. I have found the manual doesn't tell me much and I'm trying to flush out my black water tank after living full time for about five months.. (I've drained it many times but never flushed it out).

The black water valve is open and the tank has drained. I have hooked up the hose to the water flush inlet which is on the left side of the city water inlet. Above that is a pump switch but when I clicked it on (I assume when clicking it to the right the pump turns on; I just don't hear anything).

When I turn the water on to the water flush inlet, I see water running to the sewer but it is clearer than I thought. How long do I flush the tank? When do I turn the pump switch on? Why do I not hear the pump running? Is there a manual specific to my trailer with more details and explanations on the water system in my rv?

All silly questions I know, but would appreciate help. Thanks.

I don't know anything about a 2016 Flagstaff Classic Lite TT, but you don't need a water pump to operate your black tank flush. You run a hose from campground water supply to the black tank flush connection. If you haven't flushed your tank in 5 months, the possibility exists that a bunch of "stuff" has hardened on the bottom of your tank and won't flow out. Many of us close our black tank valve and allow the black tank flush to run water into the black tank - then we pull open the black tank valve and drain the tank - then repeat. A CAUTION HOWEVER... do not become distracted and allow the black tank flush to run too long before opening the valve or you'll have water overflowing the tank.

As Dan mentioned, the black tank flush does not need the use of a pump to operate the flush. Water pressure from the supply hose is all that is necessary.

It would seem odd that a water pump switch would be located on the outside of the trailer, especially near ports that create water splatter when hooking/unhooking.
Most times, the water pump switch is located inside on the control panel.

Did you purchase new or used?
Maybe it was something added by someone else?
Could you post a photo?
