2020 Forest River Cherokee Alpha Wolf hot water heater

Hi all,

My hot water heater is a Surburban model SW6DE. It won’t run on propane at this time. It runs on electric just fine. I did check my propane level & I have 68 lbs. I have a sit alone larger tank hooked up & have had t. I put my furnace on, also propane, & that runs fine. I put my burners on my cook top & they work fine with blue flames. I disconnected the main power supply, I turned the propane off, waited, & SLOWLY opened it up again. I can manually light the hot water heater, after draining the water by using it & made sure there was cold water in there that the temp of the water in the tank wasn’t close to the hot water temp. It will light for a few seconds & it goes out. I can see the end of the igniter is not cherry red. So my questions are do you all think it’s just the igniter or the board too. My HW heater is under my side counter top I believe the control board is on the far side.....how do I get to it???? And btw, yes I did hit the reset buttons also. Any help & feelings on if it just the igniter and/or board would be appreciated. And HOW IN THE WORLD do I get to this board on this tank would also be helpful. Thank you!

My first thought is if it lights and then goes out in a few seconds its the flame proving circuit which makes me think the control board. My next thought is your rig is a 2020 so is it still under warranty could you have the dealer check it out
