Exclamation 282qbxl / 273qbxl Dometic 300 toilet replacement options

Hello,

I have a new 282qbxl, which is the same bathroom setup as 273qbxl, and would like to replace my factory installed Dometic 300 with something a little better.

It looks like from measuring from the rear toilet wall to the flange bolts on the 300 is 9". The Dometic 310 installation manual requires 10".

I'm wondering if anyone has had success installing the 310 in this situation.

I have seen a thread here where they modified the rear top of the 310 unit to fit in a space, but exact dimensions were not given.

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f44...ml#post2028406

It seems it might be possible to install the toilet at a slight angle and trim down the corner to make it fit.

Just curious if anyone has fit their 310 in a similar space?

Thank you!

I bit the bullet and ordered a 310 from Amazon. It does fit, but pushes on the rear wall a little with the top rear protector cap. For now I have the protector cap removed and the toilet ever so slightly twisted counter clock wise. The rear top valve just barely brushes the rear wall.

If we're happy with the 310, I plan to modify the cover to fit the angle and limited space.

The water line for my camper to toilet is very precise and it's not quite reaching the toilet, so I'm about to install a shark bite valve and that should give it the range necessary.

Would recommend this upgrade.

Looking into upgrading my 282qbxl with a 310...any issues since your upgrade? I'm concerned that it will rub against the wall. Thanks.

Still quite happy with the 310. I can't remember right now if I have that protector cover on or not, probably not. If it's not on, I don't really plan to put it on.

I even installed a bidet too. Used shark bites and life is good. The only thing that was really strange was I couldn't find a hose/connector that fit the toilet side perfectly. I ended up cutting the supplied pex connector on the toilet side and shark biting onto it to re-use it.

The trailer is in storage, but if you reply back in mid May I can take a picture for you.

I put one in my Roo last summer. Sadly enough I am now excited by a toilet upgrade. We love it. I did have to angle mine a little differently than the 300 to obtain proper clearance for the lid. Other than that 5 minute adjustment the install was quick and we have had zero smell and zero issues with the 310.
