Anode rod for 2016 FR Surveyor 201RBS question.

Anode rod for 2016 FR Surveyor 201RBS question. Should I replace with magnesium or aluminum? Is one better than the other? Or does it not matter? TIA

Suburban units come from the factory with magnesium. Mag is 'supposed' to protect slightly better.

Depending on water composition, the aluminum may last longer if the mag gets sacrificed too quickly.

Mag rods can sometimes cause a smell. (rotten eggs) where an Alum may not.
