Arthritis hands and sewer hose connections

I own a 2022 Solera and I am having a lot of trouble coupling and uncoupling the sewer hose to the outlet inside the sewer connection cabinet. I can usually get the black cover off the outlet but often have trouble getting the hose connection secure before extending the hose to the dump hole. After dumping, I regularly cannot get the hose connection off in order to put the black cover back on the outlet. (There are always kind folks near me who can help.)
My arthritis is a real problem and the outlet is pretty far back in the cabinet. In addition the pulls for black and grey water opening are close to the outlet so there is not a lot of room to maneuver. Does anyone else have this problem? I have been thinking about leaving the sewer hose attached (making sure it is clean) and just threading it through the floor hole at the campground. Is this in any way a good idea? I have one of those orange tools (looks sorta like a jar opener) that allegedly helps remove the sewer hose but I can't make it work. What am I missing?

Here's a video about them. They shouldn't be that difficult to operate.

I have the same problem with arthritis. I use plumbers grease to lube the "O" rings, just a little dab will do you.

This works great when the outlet is either outside the rig or with no impediments on either side. In my RV, the wrench cannot grip the fitting because the black and grey water pulls block the way. I really appreciate your help.

Might try a rubber strap wrench, I used them on a water filter canister before that was to close to get my hands around

When ever my caps start getting harder top remove I just spray the exterior (plastic surface) of the valve area with a spray lube. Thats seems to work well. I never notice the O ring. Might have to give that a little grease as well.

I'm a firm believer in the old adage: is it suppose to move? yes -> use WD-40. no -> use duct tape.

WD-40 wouldn't be good for this application but plumbers grease or silicone lube (often called food grade silicone) will let those stubborn caps and hoses twist easily.

Maybe you could leave something like this on the outlet to make the connection easier to reach? You could leave the cap on the end when you're not dumping (for "safety").

I wonder if putting some sort of clear extension on there might help clear the handles? Then you could just put the hose/black cap on that?

Something like this:

I was wondering if a regular 90* would hook onto the existing connection and then line up with the hole out the bottom, thus no extra hose and then then orange tool should work just fine.

I think this is a great idea as well. Looks like I'm going to have a lot of options. Again, thanks to everyone.

Jim, that reminds me of something my father, a career Air Force officer, used to say: If it moves, salute it; if it doesn't move, paint it.

Not sure if mine was factory equipped from Forest River, or someone else did it, but my sewer hose connects to my Sunseeker using the cam lock design. It’s so much simpler than the twist-lock design throughout the industry.

Only thing I can add……my Sunseeker was a previous rental unit from one of the largest rental companies in Canada.
