Atwood Anode?

I have a Coachmen 360IBL with an Atwood 10 gal. water heater. I have always been told that since the Atwood has an aluminum tank, I don't have an anode rod and that one is not needed since the aluminum tanks don't rust. Now on Amazon, I see this one made by Camco for Atwood water heaters. Is there some new evidence that this is needed for an aluminum tank?

I have never had a problem with my Atwood. If it was needed, I would assume Mfg would require one to protect themselves.

If people are willing to buy it, they'll sell it to them.

What, $1.50 a year and 33% of that goes to taxes?

According to Atwood...The use of an anode rod will void the warranty. Now that was in their manual last time I read it BUT as many might not know Atwood is now Dometic. I have yet to see a new Dometic manual for the water heater.

As long as the anode rod and plug are aluminum it shouldn't make any difference.
