Anyone ever hook up an extra hot water tank to the existing system?

High Country Plastics make a tank for the gooseneck or fifth wheel horse people. It fits in the truck bed between the hitch and tailgate. On my fifth wheel I can hook it up to the anti freeze inlet and the onboard pump works to charge the system. I travel with the tank empty because of the weight and the tank on the fifth wheel full. Once on a boondock site I can then fill it at the water point close to where I am camped.

To the OP... are you stationary or move from site to site?

I've seen several small residential style water heaters added to a stationary R/V. Some were in a box like cover on the rear bumper, some were in sheds.

What is “the existing system”? The forum has no idea what you have, except to assume it’s an RV. Post the year, make and model of your RV, and what hot water system it currently has.

The OP’s quest was for more HOT water. Near as I can tell, your suggestion is simply for more fresh water. Does your add-on plastic tank carry hot water?
