No, because i said above, i got the clear tube and it's barbed fitting to work when it was hooked directly to the pump inlet.

Bad water pump ....

Good luck Willie. On our little 5 I just take the clear hose from winterizing kit and connect it directly to the pump with open end in the AF jug. No issue, probably filled all of the lines in less than 10 minutes. Bit of a pain as I never installed the three way valve - but the pump is easy to access. As noted elsewhere you could be sucking air OR your pump didn’t have a chance to prime?
On another note, you mentioned trying to pull from FW tank on your last post, but I thought you drained it? If, as you commented, the line is now frozen - that does NOT bode well for your trailer surviving the winter. The AF that you poured in the FW tank should not freeze - unless it was diluted by fresh water that remained in the tank

The tank was drained of water. I drain the entire rig of water after every trip.
The only thing in the tank right now is some pink stuff. Every faucet, shower, etc. in the rig is spitting out pink stuff...minus the water heater of course.

Like i said, i don't think the line between the FW tank and inlet are froze. I can blow into it easily and when i stop blowing i can smell the pink stuff so that tells me it's unobstructed, although not necessarily if it's split or anything like that.

You NEED FLOW to prime the pump! Open a faucet.

I did and it didn't matter. Just blew out air.

Not may possibilities left. Check the winterizing valve you installed to see it has directionality. Depending on how the ball valve inside is configured, the valve may have a specified flow direction. If you have the valve off, you should be able to look into it ans see.

Try hooking the antifreeze hose directly to the pump.
You may still have an air leak.

Sounds like you're trying to do two things.
Regardless, I'd go with you're previously sucessful strategy of eliminating components until the pump pumps liquid.

For the fw tank, I'd remove the winterization kit and fill the fw tank to at least 50% before testing. As others have said, be sure you have o rings where necessary and an open faucet to allow the pump to prime. This problem could still be insufficient amount of liquid in fw tank.

For the winterization kit, first, I'd procrastinate until Spring now that you know direct connect works and you said you had easy acess to the pump. Then I'd check the valve and adaptor for cracks before testing them out again. This issue seems appears that air is still getting into the line before the pump.

Good kuck.

This is silly. Low point drain solves all issues. In the spring I put a couple gallons in after draining pink from low point drain...then done. Been doing boats for 20 years this way and they never have low point drains...or at least ones you can access.

Flush til the smell is gone.

willie,

I go through this almost every year, as we don't usually use the FW tank much. There is a clear bowl with a screen in it on the pump, pull it and clean the screen. Fill the bowl with AF and re-assemble. Turn on the pump and it should then pull the AF from the tank. My theory is the pump dries out and cannot self-prime. I hope this helps.

I put 2 winterizing kits on 2 different trailers this year. I had the same problem as the OP, until I added an o ring to the jug suction hose. It would draw without the valve, however, it needed the o ring when hooked to the valve. I seems that it doesn't take much of an air leak to keep it from working.

I would put a hose clamp on the clear vinyl tube at the hose barb. I take it after you connected directly to the water pump you reconnected to the fw tank with the winterizing valve. When you tried the pump again you didn't get anything. You did install a o-ring at the fitting for the vinyl hose? I know you said you checked for proper orientation of the winterizing valve. Check it again. Besides an air leak, the only other thing can be the winterizing valve you installed is backwards.
