Angry Black tank design flaw

Brand new 2016 Columbus 375
Love most all features but....toilet plumbed to black tank uses a 90 degree elbow to get into tank. It jambs up with anything but liquid
Awaiting Forest River providing a solution to the dealer
Any one else have this problem?

The more water idea sounds ok unless you are dry camping. Hope the dealer can get it straightened out for you.

A ninety-degree bend in a sewer pipe is JUST PLAIN 'OL POOR DESIGN!

No excuses can be made for that.

Just fix it right, thank you!

From recent history, it's getting apparent that they can't possibly be using graduate design engineers any more.

Not much choice if the tank is not located under toilet.

If you don't use at least a toilet bowl of water with the solids, you will get a blockage. Like has been said " water is your friend". We dry camp about 95% of the time and we have a 59 gallon hard tank and a 50 gallon fold up container. We're prepared for dry camping because where we go there is nothing. There's a 45 degree bend under our toilet and our 5er is a 2009 model.

Black tank design flaw

My Sabre had a 90 elbow to the black tank "technically 2"
5 years never plugged it.
Use more water

Pour a little liquid Calgon in the toilet now and then. It's really slippery and might help keep things moving. But I would try to get FR to fix, that's just dumb.

FWIW there are a lot of other units out there with an elbow into the tank. I doubt anyone is looking at fixing it as the only other option is to locate the toilet over the tank. Moving the tank is not simple.

It's not a design flaw, it's user error. As most said, use more water. Now, if you have something blocking the pipe(build debris), that would be a manufacture issue and an FR problem to fix.

Totally agree Tim
If I can along just fine for 5 years then it's user error or construction debris in the pipe.

When we first camped in our Wildcat MAXX we plugged the toilet. It took a bit of work to get it opened up. I totally agree---MORE WATER is your answer. We have never had another blockage since we started to fill the bowl 2/3"s to 3/4's full of water before flushing solids. As others have said, don't bother "fixing" the toilet, fix your flushing process, or live with a plugged toilet from time to time. As the old saying goes--"it is what it is"!!!

Only time I had a problem was when my inlaws came to visit us and they used the potty and didn't listen to me when I said "3 to pee, 6 to sh....t". As in hold down the flusher for 3 or 6 full seconds. Mississippi seconds!

If i have full hookups, I hold it down up to maybe 10 seconds.
