Black Tank Flush - Backflow

Hello, I have a 2016 Forest River Surveyor, 201RBS, and used my Black Tank flush for the first time today.

My question is this; where is the back flow regulator located for the flush system?

I used a separate hose for the flush and could hear the system working. It started to leak heavily on the OUTSIDE of the TT around the connector and at the spigot. I found a kink in the flush tube located just inside the TT and so I assume pressure just built up, the hose was cheap so I also assume the fitting wasn't tight.

The water leaking was clear and there's no water inside so I assume it was just the connectors but I've heard horror stories about back flow regulators failing so I would like to check it.

Any overall thoughts?

Yeah, horror stories abound. Here is an example of a typical system install. The backflow preventer is located in various places depending on your unit. It may be black or it may be clear but it will always be installed above the rim of the highest black tank flood level item (toilet) if factory installed. In other words 4 or more feet above floor level.

Yep, I had this problem of water spilling onto floor while I was flushing my tank. I heard the wife yelling so I stopped. Still have to figure out why that happened. Does the black tank valve always need to remain open while flushing or can it be closed. I was opening and closing it when it happened.

The backflow preventer for my camper is under the bathroom sink about 2 inches below the countertop and kinda behind the sink bowl. The connection on the outside is just off the floor about 2 feet below the preventer. Look under your bathroom sink or kitchen sink depending on which is closest to the fitting on the outside of your camper.

This Cash Acme 17383-0000 V-101 1/2-Inch Brass Anti-Siphon Vacuum Breaker (Amazon) is an awesome replacement for the cheap plastic back flow preventer valve used in our RV which cracked and would have cost more than twice what this cost! I added two pvc plastic 1/2" pipe nipples and this fit right back where the plastic valve had been. I expect this solid brass piece will be much more durable.
