We have question about odors from the black tank at times after using toilet. We have a 2018 Palomino Compass and have been told that it is OK to use Pine Sol in tanks as an odor control. We were also told that Rid Ex is OK too but I have my doubts and wanted some advice from the FROG community.
If your concern is order control there are many products designed for RV for just that purpose. Rid-x is not for order its design to break down solids in septic tanks. If you are at a camp ground make sure your dump valve is closed until your tank needs dumping you may be getting order from the camp sewage if the valve is open.

Also make sure your toilet is holding a little water above the flush seal. If not clean the seal or put a little plumbers grease on it.

If you have the vent fan on when you open the flush valve, you'll get fumes pulled into the RV from the black tank. I make it a habit to turn off the vent fan just before flushing.
As for a deodorizer, I've used a lot of different brands and they all work to a certain extent. There are lots of them out there. Just try a few until you find a favorite.
