Black Tank Overflowed

Help. We have a Nitro 29' toy hauler. We thought we were filling the fresh water tank but the hose was attached to the black tank flush. Water started running off of the roof and the toilet overfilled and ran onto the floor and had a slow leak at the base. I bailed the water out of the toilet, took the trailer to the dump station and emptied the black tank. Is there anything else I need to do or check? Why did water seep out the base of the toilet where it meets the floor? Thankfully it was the first time it was out after winterizing.

You may want to put a dehumidifier inside your camper and open everything inside as much as possible. There is probably water in areas you can't see.

The reason the water came out of the base of the toilet is there is only a foam seal that seals it off, and since you were filling the black tank the water had to go some ware luckily it was not worse and that it went up the vent tube and on the roof. As stated keep the windows open and make sure that you get all the water out and check under draws and such. Also recommend cleaning the floor with a mix of bleach and water to sanitize everything.
