Bought a Zero G hose

I was not needing a new hose but I had read a lot of post about the Zero G hose. While in a returns store today, I found a 50’ Zero G hose. I asked it I could hook it up and test the hose. There was no water in the hose whatsoever abs it looked like someone took it out of the box and just folded it back up into the box. I pressure tested it and no leaks. I bought it for $16. It sure is easier to put up than the white camco hose I have.

Been using zero gs for years. Great hose, durable, and easy to store.

Bought a Zero G hose

Though we routinely use a Zero G hose to connect to the black tank flushing port, we don’t use one for the city water connection or fresh water tank fill, as we were under the impression it was not fit for drinking water use. Any thoughts or insight is welcome.

They are made by Apex, and all the advertising says they are drinking water safe. I would not use the same hose for black tank flush and drinking water though!!!

It says on the side of the box that it is safe for drinking water.

I have had a couple of these types of hoses. Not these brands. On the two that I had, the fittings were of very poor quality and the hose only last a short time before it started leaking through the fabric.

How is the quality of these tow hoses?

The zero G hose does not expand and retract like some of the hoses that folks are familiar with. It is similar to a small diameter fire hose. It will fold up without kinking or roll up without kinking.

Ditto. Thanks. We’ll have to take another look when it comes time to replace our (separate) drinking water hose.

I've used mine for years. I want to say a good 3-4 years now. Using quick connects vs. constantly twisting it seems to extend the life vs. friends who go through one every 12-18 months or so.

I've all but given up on traditional hoses at this point, I love it so much.

I think they make 2 different hoses. A blue hose which is good for drinking and a black hose that is not. If it is good for drinking water it will say so on the box.

I have three 25’ hoses. I love them as they fold up so easy. I have all three in a Tupperware type plastic tote that is probably 14” long by 6” wide by 14” tall with a latch lid. The white Camco hoses were always a pain to coil and we stiff when cold. Plus they kinked easy. Zero-G for me!

They are nice hoses and recommend them. I have a 25 foot Marine Zero G that's blue and use that for the city water. I'll put the excess amount of hose mainly under trailer to keep it out of direct sunlight during the warm days. Also have a black 25 foot for the black water flush. They do wrap up and store great. I also have a black 100 footer (going on 6 years of age) that I use at the house and don't have any complaints with it.

Have a 50' black hose to flush out black tank. Keep it separate from drinking water supplies (so I don't get confused). Connections are better than any other hose I've owned. Never thought about quick disconnect fittings to alleviate the twisting but think it's a good idea and I'll give it a whirl.

The 25' ones are so hard to find I'm starting to think they don't exist.

We’ve been using them for a few years now and they have held up great.

Have a 50’ for black tank flush and 2 25’ for drinking water hookup.

Found shorter food safe buckets at Menards that fit through the opening in the storage compartment we keep them in. Take up a lot less room than the tote we used to have.

Store nicely and much easier to work with.

As I mentioned, I love mine, the only draw back is the male end has a plastic sleeve that goes over the male end to help with twisting, that part is not so great as you can't really get ahold of the male coupler... thus the quick disconnects, they make it magical

Enjoy

Our Zero G failed on its third use, Teknor provided a full refund, no plans to try another.

We typically use the old faithful white Camco hose for most campsites, but I have a green 75 ft Zero G Pro for sites that have hookups that are away from the pad. I also have to use it when I have the trailer at home, because there isn't a faucet near my driveway. No issues with it.

Several mentions about quick connects. Any opinions on the Banjo cam & groove connectors? Having good luck with them but only using about six months. Much easier to connect than the brass push pull connectors.

Just got my 2nd Zero G, first lasted 6 years, a little faded but worked great and easy to pick up and store, love it.

We also purchased and used the Zero G Hose until I watch a Video on another forum showing a gentleman cutting one open and showing the condition of the interior of the Hose. Never again. Needless to say I replaced the Hose with a Camco and the Zero G is now in the yard...
