Brand New Shower Drain not Draining

Hi there, I bought my Chapparal 279 BHS last fall and it was already winterized. We have just started to drain the lines of the antifreeze and were working on the shower lines, when I noticed that the shower drain was not draining. Is this something that the dealer did not do? This unit came brand new from the factory, and should not be plugged at all. Just wondering if there is a simple fix that I can do, instead of having to take it to a dealer an hour away. Please help.
Thanks

No, the grey tank is not full. I wish that was the problem.

Is water standing in the shower? Or am I at the wrong drain?

Robin,

Has it been freezing till you started to dewinterize?
Water could have frozen in the trap.
If so be careful that the pipe is not cracked and that water will run into your basement when it thaws out.

What year is it?
Is it "new" new or new to you?

The water sat in the shower for about an hour and slowly drained. The trailer is brand new. I was reading somewhere that it might be the vent that is on the sink drain that might not be opened or something. Just wondering if anyone has ran into this problem.

Like Herk mentioned, the drain p trap might have been frozen if there was no antifreeze put in. Have you tried to put hot water and see how it drains now? It has been below freezing in your area!

Could trap is clogged from debris when they build the trailer. When I first drained my grey tank, there was a lot wood debris in the tank, that must have come from the drain. Some were wood chunks. Like wood punch holes, etc.

I had this on the last trailer we had turned out to be the internal vent under the bathroom sink, find it and unscrew it and watch the water drain.

BINGO! I think this is the issue. See my post on Air Admittance Valves.

Do the shower drains have check valves on them? If so, would it be possible that it was installed backwards? If it is plugged with debris, what would one use to free it up? Would just a standard snake for sewer lines do the job? And Rod, I am not sure what exactly you are asking....this is just in a shower, no plug for a tub.

Herk, I just looked under my sink, and there doesn't appear to be anything that you have posted on your link from your last post. There is a black box under the sink that is just below the sink drain, not sure what that is. I do have 2 vents on the top of the trailer I am presuming they are for a vent of some sort as well.

Ohh, okay.

My shower has a pop up stopper in it. I think you're supposed to pop it down during storage to help keep smells out.

Robin,

A photo will help us. The two roof vents are for your holding tanks.
An Air Admittance valve looks like this. It is most likely located under the bathroom sink for the shower drain.

There could also be rubbish in the trap. Access to the trap would be from a storage compartment (perhaps behind a false wall.

Hey all, took the false wall down this morning, and found out the check valve was put in backwards. Re-plumbed and now everything is good to go. Thanks everyone.
