Broken water filter

We bought a used rv and the original water filter needs to be replaced before we can use the water hook up. It's all cracked and falling apart. Not the canister but the the top part. How can we get it out and just have a regular hook up?

Post a pic of the filter...
Most filers have screw fittings. So unscrewing will take off the old head. Many folks have just put a coupler in place of the filter and use external water filters.
