I cannot find a realistic way to patch this hole, while maintaining the ability to compress the hose for storage. Any suggestions?
Unless I missed it, how big of a hole are you dealing with. I caught what did it, just never read what size the hole was.

Wondering if a piece of tire patch for a bicycle tire might not solve your issue when glued over hole.Should remain flexible.
Curious minds want to know what worked.

The hole was just smaller than a nickel. After various attempts, the solution appears to be a hot glue. I filled the hole with glue, starting at the circumference and working my way in. I let it harden completely. Because of the temperature, I folded the hose up and put it away. Today I took the hose out and emptied my tanks. No Leakes. Again, because of temperature, collapsed hose and put away. When the temperature warms up, I might reinforce glue with spray flex (that black stuff). That did not work by itself. So far, so good.

Bug did it

You had a lot of suggestions, if nothing else works you could try Aquaseal. I have the Viper and love it

Hose Storage

Shortly after purchasing our RV we investigated the back bumper. Yup. Metal.

Not wanting a rust issue we purchased an 8' long section of PVC porch post. It is about 6" square. Glued a post cap on one end. On the other end we drilled a couple of holes through the end of the post right through the post cap. Then inserted "L" shaped bolts in the holes. The cap doesn't have a chance of coming off. The whole thing was attached to the underside of the camper with strapping.

Six years in and still works like a charm. Camper in storage but I can try to get some pictures later.

Say what?!? Why would you say that? Shall I post a picture of my Outdoors RV with a rear bumper and sewer hose storage? It's factory installed. Along with a receiver hitch.

There is also this potential issue …
Easy Fix !!!
Install - Pin- Nail or small Bolt in end cap !!!
Also first install plastic rain gutter in bumper before Hose !!!

A cicada? That's one tough bug. Probably thought your hose was a tree.....
I use clear silicon calk an it lasts forever on any small hole in my sewer hose and does not affect the collapsing of it much at all.

Thank you. Since I borrowed the hot glue gun, I will try silicon calk should this happen again. So far, the hot glue has held up fine.

Hot Glue gets very hard compared to Silicon calk and it will not flex like silicon. Make sure you clean area with alcohol first.

Easy fix

Vinyl repair found at auto store or another product called waiter repair. I’ve used on tests on both ATV and snowmobile seats, which are very flexible

What do you do when the hose won’t fit in the bumper. I put mine in the back of truck. After loosing one many TT ago have never carried one in bumper. When I get home I wash and sanitize it and store on a crate in trailer.

My Cedar Creek has a large basement. I bought a large rubbermaid storage container that I holds all my hoses, drain connections, hose slinky, etc. It is water tight, has a lid, and fits nicely in my basement.
