Our Surveyor came with an undersink water filter. That's great, although we always drink bottled water and cook with it also. Since we only camp maybe every other weekend (if that often) what happens to the water left in the filter? Wouldn't this seem like a breeding gound for bacteria? I haven't had this unit long enough to actually have any "real world" results. Has anyone experienced any problems? Do you remove the filter after each trip? Any ideas or am I just being too paranoid?
I think you're being paranoid. We have the same filter and we camped all last year with and put a new one in this spring. We also use a brita filter on the tap. Between the two of them the water comes out great......

We've never had any issues with ours, and we're weekenders like you. We change it once a year whether it needs it or not. We drink with the bottled water, but cook with the trailer water.

Just had to add this....... The DW read a thread the other day about smelly water and it turned out to be the water filter. She told me I'd better check to make sure ours hadn't turned green since we live in 100* temps.
During our PDI I requested that the panel be removed so that I could see the pump and filter location and verify the valve position of the HW bypass system. The tech handed me a filter and said "Here, they even gave you an extra filter".
So at the wife's request I went out to check on the filter situation. Turns out, that wasn't an extra filter, but was the filter that "should have" been installed prior to delivery. I told the wife the filter was like "brand new"....
