Camping below freezing

For thanksgiving we are traveling to a new campground that has hook ups but usually gets well into the 20's at night. Has anyone had a problem with the water supply line between the hook up and trailer freezing before?

Just get some Heat Tape at your local Lowes. Wrap it around your water hose and plug it in. That will keep the hose from freezing.

Dude if your camping in that pop up the water line will be the least of your worries. I know i have done that

Ha ha. Giving it a try. We've done low 30's dry camping so doing it with hook ups should be better. 3 heaters-check. Heated mattresses-check. Plenty of propane and beer-check. Did I mention that we were going camping? Lol

You'll be fine. What could be more fun? Cold night, big campfire, plenty of beers - sounds like a good time!

Just make sure you disconnect your water hose at night and drain it. I camped last year in Herkimer NY last day the KOA was open and my hose froze, but camper was fine. An hour in the sun defrosted the hose and I cleared it by running water through it. That was in my 21.5 Antigua Hybrid. Would also HIGHLY recommend some liners for your tent ends. I made it through that horrible New England blizzard in Mass with 22" of heart attack snow. 26 degrees both there and in Herkimer. No freezeups. If you have electric, buy a small electric heater. One with auto shut off if it tips over. I have a Sunbeam that's good. Switchable between 750 and 1500 Watts.

I recommend the disconnect and drain the water hose at night unless you will be in freezing weather all day. I personally would not get the heated tape for just a weekend. Just me, and we stay out of most of the cold in our unit!

for years at my horse farm I would water then detach the hose from the standpipe and drain it. Doing things that way works fine. Rubber hose helps too if you can find one that is OK to use for drinking water.
