Can anyone tell me what this piece is called

I seem to have sprung a leak and it looks like it’s the plastic piece that has the water lines attached . It appears easy to replace but I’ll need to order it and I can imagine what to call it. Click image for larger version

To which piece are you referring?

Now I see your edit. It looks like a 3-way water valve.

Maybe the valve is OK and the leak is coming from one of the hose connections.

3 way by pass valve...Assuming it's just not one of your hoses leaking at the PEX connection. If you think it maybe leaking on one of the hose connections and not the PEX try using a small band clamp.

Agreed.

For the OP, to find out, wrap a little bit of toilet paper around each end of the valve. It should give you an idea of where the leak is a bit more accurately.

On a side note, those bypass valves tend to stick as they are usually only used twice a year. When ever turning them, try to hold the valve with one hand and turn it with the other so you do not stress the connections.

Diverter valves for diverting to bypass or to hot water tank. Should be available at any RV store.

And 'maybe' it isn't even leaking at the bypass valve but rather where the PLASTIC fitting screws onto the water heater inlet. It could be running back the line and dripping off the valve. The fitting on the water heater has a cone shaped washer in it and is only to be finger tight. Sometimes they don't even get them finger tight at the factory.

Doug's suggestion of the technique of using pieces of toilet paper or small pieces of tissue is good advice to narrow down troublesome leaks.

I'm surprised your dealer didn't explain about the bypass valves when you had your PDI/Customer Orientation? (if you bought new)

Be careful of Harbor Freight hose clamps. I bought an assortment box and found they are sub standard. Even a medium tight and the threads strip out and the clamp pops loose. I wound up getting some honest SS clamps at AutoZone.

Generally, I would pass on band clamps on pex tubing. The flat spot on the band clamp often results in leaks. Pex really needs a clamp that puts even pressure all the way around.

That sent me to a water pump when I clicked it. Weirdest hose clamp ever.
