City/Fresh water connection

Need some feedback but we just got our 2018 Windjammer and this past weekend was our first trip with hookups and I noticed that our fresh water connection is OPEN around the hose to the inside of the trailer.

If it were to rain hard on that side of the trailer, rain would enter the trailer. Also, this is a perfect path for insects to enter.

It almost appears that some form of boot is missing. Is this how other's fresh water inlet is designed?

Thanks,

Paul

You're missing the cover that should have come on your inlet.

Thanks... It appears an important part was left off at the factory...

We'll see if the dealer can help out and get the correct part sent.

A temporary fix is just go to the hardware store in the plumbing section get a garden hose fitting in a Until you can get the dealer to get you the right part

Our 2016 WJ is exactly like yours, I was thinking about shooting some expanding foam in there but with the hatch cover closed we have not had any issues with rain water coming in, don't know about bugs, but don't think so.

Ah, just realized we put a 45 degree elbow on our outlet so the hatch cover is closed all the time except when flushing the black tank.

We had the same problem and the identical connections as you on our 27hfs toy hauler. We were at the factory for other repairs and they siliconed a rubber gasket around it. There is not enough room to use something as in post #3.
