City Water Connection

Looking for how people hook up the city water to their TT's. With our brand new trailer I am probably over thinking this but I have two questions:
Regulator Placement:
- At the spicket?
- At the the TT?
Hose connection:
- What do you do to take the tension from the hose off the TT?
- elbow?
- ???

Firm believer in the stupidest question is the one you do not ask.

TIA

At the spigot will help protect the hose also.

At the hose connections use one of these:

water.

Same part can be had wally or lowes. Originally I had the internal water filter. Then I changed to using the "blue tube". The setup I went with was from the rv to the elbow, elbow to a short hose that reached the bumper (the strain relief issue), water press reg, filter, cut off, then ahose to the camp water feed.

I have since moved my press reg internally, but I still use the setup less the reg. A couple of benefits, the hose on the ground is the only hose dirty, and only two hook ups each set up as I leave the bumper to rv line together as a set. Since I no longer use the press reg externally I empty the short hose, filter, shut off, and put the whole rig in the frezzer btw trips. Cuts down on bactria growth.

See ya out there....

Same here, but really in the grand scheme of things it will work the same by just screwing the hose in to the trailer will last probably just as long. Last hose I bought was $10. Last summer.

Regulator placement... at the campground spigot. Just remember to take it with you when you disconnect.

Tension on the hose... use the elbow recommended above

Also, we use a y-adapter at the spigot so that we can connect the garden hose we use to clean out the sewer hose.

There are no stupid questions on this forum, although there have been a few questionable answers.

Back when I had a water bay, I mounted the regulator in there and would quick connect my hose onto and off of it. It meant that I could never forget it at the campsite. I accepted that my hose was at risk for the convenience of not forgetting it.

Now I have it permanently mounted on the output side of my water filter system. It's a big bastard and I won't likely forget it!

I use an adjustable water pressure regulator at the spigot. and a brass 90* fitting at the rig.

I use hose wye,on one side we just have a hose for the fire pit, full pressure on that side, on the other, a Watts regulator at the faucet, then GE filter, then short hose into 90 in water bay.

at the trailer we use the Camco Water Diverter, a convenient way to connect city water similar as show above, but also provides an additional faucet outside the RV, ...

in over 5 years and over 100,000 miles in the continental U.S., Alaska, and most all provinces in Canada, I've never used any 'water pressure regulator' or similar device, unless I was at a few campsites that had one already installed permanently on the spigot - never had 'issues' with water pressure being 'too high' - though there seem to be quite a bit of conversation around whether these actually cause a 'lack' of pressure.

Using one doesn't present any 'problems', maybe, but not using one also doesn't either.

enjoy!

As you have seen on the forum some people think that they are right no matter what even though they are not. It is their way or no way.

Bottom line for you is a hose and a pressure regulator are minimum and fine to use alone. But........... there are many good suggestions here.

The elbows are a great idea but if you do not have them no big deal and I do usually use one.

ependydad has a great system but he and his family full time and I would do the same if I full timed. Doug always has a lot of great advice.
