Yes, you are correct. I want to leave it attached to the dump port to avoid having to store it.

I've got a TT and my dump ports are quite low to the ground. I store mine in a tote.

My dump port is on an angle, but tucked up under and hard to reach, so I use a straight clear extension with a screw to prevent it falling off. This just to make it easier to connect the hose. Always put a cap on it as well. As others state, the clear will let you know when the black is done, then dump the soapy grey tank to rinse the hose out.!

Apparently I've never taken a picture of my sewer setup while underway. This is as close to it as I get.

If you squint, you can see the clear elbow on my old trailer.

On the new one, it would hang down lower than I would be comfortable with.

I too use the clear 45ºs into a "Y" but I do not leave them attached to either the black dump port or the galley dump port.
