Columbus 366RL 1492 Mystery Water Valve - Drain?

We bought a 2020 Columbus 366RL 1492 fiver recently and have discovered a white PEX line with a shutoff valve towards the back underside of the rig. It is not marked with a label (like the low points and fresh water drains are) and I would rather not remove the underbelly panel just to figure out what it's for.

Of course there is nothing I can find in Forest River/Palomino literature or online as to what this is. Anyone???

TIA!

Is it near the fresh water tank? It might be an overflow pipe.

Pics are often more helpful than descriptions.

An overflow (vent) should not have a shutoff valve on it. Leave the valve closed and you take the chance of either pressurizing the tank during filling, or drawing a vacuum on the tank when using water from it.

True... but... there have been multiple posts here of folks losing their fresh water tank contents due to siphoning going down the road and most of them have put a shut-off valve on the overflow. Not saying this is what the OP has but it could be.

One other thing... at a recent R/V show we seen two units that were pre-plumbed for a washer/dryer and there was a plastic pan on the floor with a drain attached so if the washer overfilled/leaked, it would catch in the pan and run out the drain to the outside.

It is the fresh water tank drain. We have a 2013 Columbus 320RS, which is similar to your 366RL. On the older models, like ours, both the overflow and the drain were underneath the trailer, near the axles. This location for the overflow could cause siphoning to occur. Later models moved the overflow to the convenience center, to avoid the siphoning. Unfortunately, the overflow was located ABOVE the electric outlet! Hope this helps.

Smile valve

Hank, we have a Columbus 320RS the valve you are asking about, is it at the rear of the unit on the driver side? Do you have a residential refrigerator? If so, it is a drain valve for the water line going to the frig. Good luck safe travels......
