Combining galley and grey water

I have a 2861 Forester that has a black water tank, grey water tank, and a galley tank for the outdoor kitchen. There are times we do not use the outdoor kitchen and so the galley tank is empty. Is there a way we could combine the two lines--grey water and galley--so we could basically double the amount of storage for gray water? Wisdom? Is it possible?

it may be possible but it depends on how your tank drains are plumbed. do you have a single sewer outlet connection that you attach the sewer hose to and that is used to drain all of the tanks? or at least is used to drain the two grey tanks? if so, buy a valterra twist on valve and attach it to the sewer outlet. close the valterra valve and then open the two grey tank valves. this will allow the water from one grey tank to flow out the drain but it will not go out as the valterra valve is closed. it will flow up the other grey tanks drain and will equalize between the two grey tanks. just install the valterra twist on valve and leave it on permanently.

I also have a 2861, it does have two separate drains. Although this seems like a great idea the tanks have some distance between them and it would seem difficult to get some of the gray tank water into the galley, but I am interested in seeing what type of engineering can be done.

Great idea.

As long as both tanks are at the same elevation the water will equalize in both tanks until both are full if you connect the drains even though the drains may be below the tanks.

If the RV has two separate drain outlets you may be able to route a pipe between the two along the frame of the RV. Even if you can't do that you could rig something up to externally connect the two outlets.

I would guess that connecting the tanks might me difficult to do. I expect that if it were easy to do, that would be the least expensive manufacturing option which is what the factory would have done in the first place.

My Flagstaff has a black water tank and a grey water tank and two separate drains, I have a wye connection drain hose that I use to hook up the drains. Everything but the toilet is plumbed into the grey tank.
