Compartment Door Blocks Hose Connection

Used our brand new Sunseeker 2300 for the first time. Everything seemed to work well. So we go to dump our waste tanks, and we propped open the compartment door so that we can get to the valves. But when we did that, the open door blocks the black tank flush water hose inlet. Why would they put that there? Does anyone have any tips or tricks to work around this design flaw?

I just don't open the door all the way. One of those things that makes me wonder....

A 90 degree elbow on the inlet?

If the people that designed campers would actually camp in them and use all the systems I think they would do a much better job in their design process.

Yeah, in our rig the kitchen drawers wind up underneath the counter extension. So the extension has been used like twice in the six years we've had the trailer.

There are electrical outlets on both sides of the bed. But they are obscured by the mattress and it's impossible to plug anything in!

The only truly goofy things they did. On our trailer, anyway.

Nope, mine is the same way. Just poor engineering. This is why the folks who design these things should have to live in them for a month. I hook a bungee to the strap on the fresh water inlet and then to the closest door latch. Same reason the entertainment center door hits the crank for the antenna...just poor attention to detail.

Not sure how yours is arranged, or what side it's on. On our 3121, I rerouted the black flush inlet to inside the wet bay. Another user, ATVer I believe, did a similar mod to his. There are some pictures in my photo album of the mod.

New Black Flush Inlet - My Photo Gallery

Our inlet was on the door side, which I thought was not so smart, being the tank outlet is on the driver's side. So, I just moved everything and made it look like it should have to begin with. FR even sent me a new sticker to ID what it was.

At least yours is on the same side of the motorhome as the sewer connection! Mine is on the opposite side on my 3050s.
