crack in shower base

I have a 2013 Rockwood Signature Ultalite 8329SS and noticed I have a small crack on the top surface of the base of the shower stall right near the opening of the shower door. The crack is about 2-3 inches long and doesn't appear to flex or get wider with any weight in the shower and the base of the shower is solidly supported, no flex when standing in shower. No leaking noticed on floor below crack, for now! Suggestions on fixing this crack? I believe some type of caulk or sealing type tape would handle it but wondering why it would crack in the first place? Just a flaw in the acrylic shower stall material? Also have read different views on drilling small holes at the ends of the crack to stop the crack from lengthening? Thank you.

Myself I would stop drill it to relieve the stress and prevent further cracking and then seal it with a clear sealant

X2. And then keep any eye on it to ensure it does t grow slowly over time. The cause could be a number of things but as long as it doesn't grow don't sweat it.
