De-winterizing quiz.

I think the weather is fine now to de-winterize and prep for the upcoming camping. I hit a snag while attempting to flush the water lines. Here are the symptons. Try your luck at making a diagnosis. I will post pictures and the diagnosis after I hear from you. Test your skills. One diagnosis per posting to make it fun.
Symptons and actions
1) First thing I done was to turn the HW tank bypass valve perpendicular to the line.
2) I then turned the cold water valve parallel to the supply line to HW tank
3) Next I turned the hot water valve parallel to the hot water line
4) I opened the low point drains.
5) connected city water to begine flush.
6) Released pressure valve on HW tank to bleed trapped air.
7) closed off low point drains.
8)Opened cold water taps in shower, bathroom sink, toilet, kitchen faucet and outside shower.
9) Flush water through cold water lines and then closed all taps.
10) Open hot water taps

Problem: No water running through hotwater tanks.

What is the diagnosis???

I will post pictures and correct diagnosis unless someone can make it first. I will still post pics.

If you were able to bleed the water heater and got water out of the "pop off"" valve, you obviously have water going in the tank. If you no water coming out, symptom, no water coming out out of the hot taps, you probably have a bad outlet valve, or turned the wrong way. That would be the valve at the top of the tank.

What to check: Turn the top valve the other way and test for water.

If no water, turn the bypass valve and test for water. I say do this to to check the integrity of the rest of the plumbing. Would be unlikely, but you could have a blockage in the line, after it leaves the water heater, before it goes to any of the taps.

Good luck, and let us know.

Windrider, you are right. Malfunctioning hot water valve. Cheap plastic turn style.
