Your toilet does not have to stay ďcaddy cornerĒ in that bathroom! You could help others help you if you listed you trailer make and model in your signature.
Looks as though you have room to turn left or right if it will not install as it is now. Measure to each wall to check for fit. If you replace a 300 with another 300, soon you will have the same problem.

I had wondered if we could turn the toilet. I want sure how it works with a camper drain. My husband is so concerned it will not fit too. I think we just take the plunge, cross our fingers and figure out how to make it work. Thanks to everyone for the advice!

As long as your present toilet isnít pressing against any part of the wall you should be fine. Mine is setup just like yours. The 310 isnít that much bigger and fit just fine.

I agree. Also, the 310 is more narrow than the 300 at the rear, so I donít think there will be a problem.

Turning it will complicate the replacement, as the flange bolts won't line up. As I understand it, some flanges can be rotated fairly easily, but some cannot.

Thanks, I ordered the 310 today and expect it to arrive next week just before our week long camping trip. I could not handle a week with the smell from the 300. I'm excited to have the slow close seat too as that is what we've used for many years at home. I plan to add the hand sprayer in the future too.

I have the same problem with the Dometic 300 in my 2020 Cherokee. Pee collecting in the base...took the whole thing out and sooo much drained out. I hosed it out but the smell wonít go away. I just called Dometic and they claim they added a new component in the last month that fixes the problem so they are shipping me a new 300. I am going to test it a LOT with water only before using it...definitely donít trust it.

I feared the smell being a recurring problem and could not handle the smell anymore so that is why I went with the 310 upgrade with wooden slow close seat. The 300 is so loud and the seat was horrendous.

Does anyone know of a direct replacement for the Dometic 300? I have a 2019 31kqbts and the measurement off the wall to the flange bolts is only about 9". I'd like to replace with a China bowl model but the smallest dimension from the wall I can find is 9.5" with an Aquamagic Style II.

Aquamagic water fitting is at top instead at the bottom. My 320 is tight against the wall. I think the flange has a fudge factor.

Dometic installation

Yes, we put it in. It did fit in the same spot but the lid would not fully open so I turned the floor flange about Ļ/≤ an inch which turned the toilet just enough to allow the lid to fully open. It was all very easy and quick. I absolutely love the 310 because it is so much more sturdy, comfortable, love the flush the toilet has and I no longer have that horrendous smell anymore.

Dometic 300

I had this exact problem for months....tried everything. This is going to sound crazy - feed a rope of paper towel down the hole in the back where the fresh line goes and and pull out. The bottom of the TP "rope" may be soaked in raw sewage. We have had TWO Dometic toilets do this because of the inner seal. This toilet is made of three parts and a terrible design. Forest River sent me TWO new toilets and the third unit was a new type of seal. Seems to be good.
I would put money on the smell coming from the hole - your toilets exterior shroud is filling. You will need a short socket to get the toilet off as the bolt is under the foot pump. If you need to drive it make sure you tape the hole off with duct tape as it will slosh over.

We replaced with the upgraded ceramic model and problem was solved. I was so relieved as the smell was driving me insane.

Im currently having a leakage around the base of my 2 yo dometic 300 and a putrid smell just to find out many others have had this happen as well. Many rotted floors have come from this and its even gotten into my wall as well. Im calling dometic monday morning so hopefully they will make this right even if its 1 week out of warranty.

It sounds like it wasn't a problem in the beginning and it does not seem to a problem caused by the defect the problem dometic 300 toilets had. The issue with the bad ones is the seal in the center of the toilet was crimped which would cause urine to build up in the middle of the toilet not actually causing leakage but standing urine within the toilet. I cannot speak for dometic but I fear you will not be able to be compensated as it does not seem like the issue is caused by the factory. Often times, the toilets can crack, seals degrade/dry rot or also possibly improper winterizing/storage prep can cause issues. With our dometic, it was immediately noticeable after our first trip with an overpowering smell of urine throughout the camper that would not go away. That is a sign it is the inner seal. Sounds like you may have an issue with your floor flange seal. It definitely should not have caused any issue within the wall so you must have a profound leak.

My trailer is 2 years old and has this toilet. My trailer has been smelling the whole time and I figured it was a black tank seal or vent problem. I pulled it out and the back of the toilet was full of brown smelly liquid. Crazy Iíve been running circles for years, never knowing why my trailer always smelled.
