This will show how to fix the 300. The 310 fits exactly like the 300. I repaired the 300 and sold. Dometic replaced with a 310 for $75. The 320 dies not fit exactly, I could not simply swap in my 24ws.

What a mess

I got a replacement Dometic toilet for my 2019 Rockwood. The smell was horrific. Dometic sent the new model 300. I replaced the toilet myself. I lifted the toilet after turning off the water and cleaning the bowl. When I lifted it straight up ugly brown water spilled from the back. I disinfected the floor and got the toilet into the box of the new toilet. The new toilet went in easily but I am hoping since it’s the new model 300 made in March of 2022 that we will not have the smell.
I thank Dometic for the replacement and hope I don’t need another. After 4 days no smell.

Is it built differently? I thought not?

I read that it’s been improved to stop the problem on an RV site. I forget the site where I read it though.

That is helpful, thanks. I have a request in to Dometic for a replacement toilet. I hope they will honor it.

The replacement toilet is exactly the same and had the same issue a month later. I ended up removing it, and buying a different brand. I gave up on dometic toilets.

Dometic 300

I was treated fairly by Dometic when I encountered the odor issue. Dometic sent me a new model 3O0 when it was available in April of 2022. My Rockwood was a 2019 I purchased new. I installed the new model 300 but after 5 days the smell was back. I contacted Dometic and they sent me a model 310 which fit perfectly and is part ceramic part plastic. It works well and no smell.
I don’t know of a repair kit but I did see a YouTube video where someone took the toilet apart and resealed the inside.
If you bought a used trailer Dometic may not send out a new one since it is not a recall item. I would suggest buying the 310 model on Amazon and it should fit your model trailer. You need 10 inches on each side from the wall for the bolts to fit in. If the 300 fit the 310 model should fit fine. I’ve heard the model 320 is larger and will not fit in my Rockwood ultra lite.

Dometic did send me a free 300 replacement, but I got tired of replacing toilets after the 2nd time. I went with a thetford with a wash down sprayer and it’s been working flawlessly. It was well worth the $120 just to know it will work well.

First 300 removed we had brown water spill out

After seeing the photo posted I now know where the brown water came from. Dometic took care of my problem and the 310 is a great replacement. The smell comes through the open back of the 300. We couldn’t take it anymore. We tried a variety of ways to cover the smell but the 310 took care of it.

You can't hide the smell of an open sewer.

Word of caution to users of a "replacement" 300 - we had the same experience with a newly purchased 2019 travel trailer - dometic 300 toilet worked great the first year, then experienced the internal leaking and odor issue in 2020. After getting a warranty replacement in Feb of this year (2021), it worked for one trip, then had the SAME FAILURE. I took it apart and it is indeed the "new" two-gasket model - but it failed just the same. I'm now replacing with the 310 model. My recommendation is to either fix it with sealant or multiple o-rings, or replace with a 310 (or 320 if room allows)

We just returned from another 3 week trip and the repair I posted, # 471 is still holding strong after over a year.

Have had no issues with toilet til this year, 1st time out.

I called today the 1-800 # for Dometic and they wouldn't help me out because I was beyond the 3yr time frame for replacement. No matter the issue of the constant issue with this toilet would they offer a replacement, just to say they are still working on the issue with this toilet.

My trailer is a 2018 Puma 255RKS 5th wheel

It’s the Dometic model 310. You can buy it on Amazon and it is roughly the same size as the model 300. Be careful taking the 300 out as it has nasty water in the back.
Look up the 310 on Amazon it’s $329. I believe

Lucking out so far, now I probably jinxed myself! Into our 5th year with the 300 model and still no stank. Knock on plastic!

Great, you’ve had no problems! I had lots but Dometic was quick to respond and helped solve my issues. I was still under warranty but the 310 has done the trick for me.
