Dumping Black Tank at Home

I am connected to the public sewer utility. I have a couple of clean-outs between my home and the city street. Just curious, but is it possible to dump black and gray tanks into the clean outs? Or, do I need to run separate plumbing from within my home?

no reason you can't dump your sewage in the sewage pipe you pay to dump sewage down. Let er rip.

Haha - good enough for me!

Does anyone else do this? Don't want to be like Uncle Eddie out on the front lawn yelling, "s*****'s full!"

I could, and I would, but where I need to park to do it, the yard has a slight slope the wrong way. Would not drain fully. We do have a public dumping station in my town at the sewage plant.

I have a clean out in my side yard. I park the trailer in front of the garage takes me 30 foot to reach it but its nice knowing I can flush it out good before I put it up. Like others said let her rip.

Beats using a 5 gallon bucket and lifting the manhole at midnight!

If yours goes as much as my wife does, you may want to call the sewer plant and warn them it's coming !!!

I'd have to park the trailer in front of my home and run the sewer hose across the sidewalk to the front clean-out. So, it might still be a midnight evolution!

I would if I had a clean out close enough. Count your blessings and dump away.

Should be no problem but would be best if the clean out pointed toward the street & not the house.

I've used mine once. But it's more convenient to go to the local dump station at the Loves truck stop.

Just make sure you use the correct clean out . some homes have 1 or 2 one will be directed back toward the home for snaking the main drains of the house . the other will be directed towards the street to clean out from the house to the main sewage line . some homes with just one it can go either way depends on how the plumber felt the day it was installed .

In reality please be sure you are dumping into a sewer line and not a "storm" sewer.one gets treated by local sewer plants. But storm sewer water (runoff from storms /streets etc/) dumps into lakes and rivers without being treated.

I have been using the sewer clean out in my front yard for years. Live in a nice development. Macerator pump and a 1 1/2 inch hose and it's empty in minutes. No one can even tell what I'm doing.

When I get home from a trip, I do a thorough flush of the black tank. I dump it into my waste tote and drag it to the clean out to dump it.

I have a Flojet portable rv waste pump and macerator that I attach to the rv dump outlet. I run an old water hose from the pump, approximately 75' on an uphill incline to the house sewer clean out. Works. Use this setup when, if I arrive back home with tank contents. Believe you can get the pump on Amazon for about $212. Think I paid about $270 at CW some years ago.

Now you have me worried. I have one that is about 10 feet from the street just past the sidewalk coming towards the house and then I have another that is in my front bed (inline with the other one and the street), but closer to the house. Both have a screw on cap with a square on top.
