Anyone have experience with this unit? selling for $199 at camping World, reviews seem good. Looking to replace my 6 gal Atwood in our Class C Coachmen.
Just spoke to their rep and that's a problem as it has to be mounted vertically so likely wouldn't fit into my current water heater slot. Don't really have the room inside to mount it, so guess my only option for one that is reasonably priced is something like the Girard, tho seems the reviews are mixed. Any other recs in that $500 price range?
Go to Amazon and look up propane water heaters. You can find several similar heaters for around $120. I use one on a destination trailer. I simply bypassed the onboard heater. We don't mover the trailer so I mounted the heater inside an old gas grill sitting beside the trailer. It works fine. I don't know how this would work on a moving unit. I have seen them screwed to the side. With the hose sticking out the bottom, it is not too attractive. If you have a choice between small or large heater, go for the small. They are water pressure sensitive and big one some times will not turn on. I have had both.
thanks for this feedback. The cheaper units are appealing and the Excel unit can run on very low water pressure, but I just don't have the room for something mounted on a wall. I'd ideally like to just replace my Atwood 6 gal unit and use that space. The Suburban Nautilus looks good, good reviews and similar in price to the Girard.
