Expansion tank inline near city water connection ok?

I've been "fixin" to install a small expansion tank for a while, but having a heckava time finding a spot that's (relatively) easy to access and maintain should maintenance become necessary. On our Apex 22QBS there's a good spot very near the city water hook-up & I'm thinking I'll just put the tank in that line. I'm "assuming" that there's a check valve in the city water connection and that there's pressure in the line there when not hooked up and using the onboard tank and pump(?)...or, is the check valve actually further down the line, maybe near/at the pump? Photo attached. ...just wondering if there's any reason this won't work OK? Thanks!

Thanks! The only other location would mean hanging almost on my head while laying with my chest on the potty...and, working with one hand. I could actually do that...20 years ago, but now just not as good as I once was . In the line and near the city water connection will be easy and, now, I know will work perfectly. Thanks again for the confirmation!
