Exterior Shower Door Latch?

My lock will not work in this and I got a replacement and it will not work either. The locks spin in the opening in the thin piece of plastic.

Has anyone put another type of latch on this? It does not need to be lockable.

This kind?

They come in various lengths, depending on your door thickness. The threaded part has flats on two sides which is supposed to prevent the body from rotating. If the lock is stiff and has been forced, the flats on the mounting hole will have been rounded off. You might be able to tighten the nut enough to prevent rotation.

Be sure to measure the present lock before ordering, to get the right length. You can use the flat tongue that comes with it, or the offset tongue in either of two position to get a little bit of adjustment.

You can get keyed or unkeyed locks from many places including eBay, Amazon, and all the RV supply places.

I have something like that in my shopping cart at Amazon. I will work on my current lock more today after being chased off by rain yesterday. I failed to check this during the PDI and when trying the key for it I found out the lock was bad. I may use one of my previous longer locks and put a double nut on it.

Why not consider contacting the dealer you purchased from and getting this resolved? Even if you missed this on delivery, they should make it right.

That won't work. The lock tongue will be too far back and the door will rattle.

If you put the extra nut on the outside, it would work but not look very good.

I got it working at least temporarily. I don't use it, but I will have to de-winterize it.
