Question Filling Freshwater Tank HELP NEEDED

We just bought our camper and have dewinterized it but are having a problem that we need some immediate help on as we are set to leave for a camping trip in the morning.

We have plugged in the hose from the house in order to fill the freshwater tank. We have the top and the bottom valve on the water heater opened and the middle valve closed but it seems to be filling only the blackwater tank.

HELP!!

THANKS FOR THE TWO THAT RESPONDED. We got it working now!!

If you're filling your black tank...your hose is hooked up to the Black tank flush connection. There isn't a hose connection to fill your FWT...you'll find a larger cap 1.5" or so that your hose will fit into...it should be marked Fresh Water. There should be another hose connection marked "City water" or something like that. That is what you use when at a CG..."campground" that has water hook ups.

Your signature line says you have a Micro Lite 19 footer but no model number. Most of that line have a fresh water fill port on the LH side. If you are trying to fill from the city water connection it may not work for this unit. Water heater valve setting will not help with this.
ANd I may be all wrong but my 25DS filled from the outside.

Yes, sounds like you are hooked to the black tank flush connection. This connection only flushes the black tank and does not supply water anywhere else in the camper.

You need to connect to the city water connection to use inside plumbing and fill your water heater.

Some units have a valve you turn to allow filling of the fresh water tank while connected to city watet (so you can use your water pump when city water isn't available) but the more common method for filling the fresh water tank is through a gravity fill port with a cap that is on the side of the camper. You will simply stick your city water hose in the port and fill until full.

Your HWH will fill with either the FWT or the City connection. It doesn't matter which one you use. City connection will fill it faster...sometimes.

Yeah, the guy from the camper place called. He showed us that when we originally picked it up in March but because our vehicle that tows this was in the shop for 2 months because of the bad hail storm we got, this is our first trip and we've forgotten a lot. Plus, our last camper didn't have a toilet so we only had one water type connector. We're learning! Thanks again!
