First time using freshwater tank

We are in Texas with freezing temps and using freshwater tank for the first time. We filled the tank yesterday while it was still warm. Today we turned off the city water, turned on the pumps and we are only getting hot water. The faucets run water from the water heated and it sounds like the pump is running and fills up the water heater tank again. We have a Vibe 2021 26bh tt. Any help would be great. Thank you

Chances are that the valves around and at the water heater are set in the bypass or winterization position. Or maybe one is closed that should be open, or one is open that should be closed. You'll need to give a bit of thought and study in order to determine what is correct. Or perhaps read the manual. In my experience, there are no two alike. Just similar.

Water flows from the fresh water tank to the internal water pump, then to the INLET of the water heater along with other plumbing to provide cold water to the faucets. There is another line from the water heater OUTLET which will be HOT water. There may be or is likely a valve in the lines between the INLET and OUTLET which is the water heater bypass for winterization. This valve should be closed. All others should be open.

As I've said before "it ain't rocket science".

Does your TT have the fresh water tank in a heated area or have a heated blanket under it? If the temps stay below freezing and you don't have a heated tank, you may experience frozen plumbing and very expensive repairs.

If you didn’t have ‘only hot water’ while on city water, then it’s pbly not WH valves. Are you saying you get hot water from cold faucet on FW tank, but didn’t on city water?
