First trip in our 3006WK and Water Leaks

Let me start by, when we picked our unit up there was a loose twist on fitting under our pantry, we noticed that when we were testing the plumbing. Tightened that up and all seemed fine after we got everything dried up.

Now we are making our first trip, and once we got set up I decided to run off the pump to make sure we didn't have any other leaks till we ran off of the water supply.

Low and behold the pump kept running and we found another leak found a loose twist fitting under the bathroom sink. Finally got that dried up, then pressurized the system again and the pump finally shut off.

When we were getting ready to drain our tanks, and trying to flush the black tank I heard another leak in side, and found the hose that comes in and is supposed to go to the tank, it actually goes up into the wall of the pantry and then seems to come back down and then goes to the tank. Its leaking inside the wall.

Now the pressed wood at the bottom of the pantry is swelling.

So I'm taking it back to the dealer ( Camping World) we will see how they handle it.

Not very happy with Forest River's quality control, and their testing of the plumbing.

This is surprising as most units coming off the line have very few issues. Where these are built have the least amount of problems. We are on our 2nd unit and have had very few issues. The V-Lite and the Windjamers come down the same assembly line. Later RJD

Before this TT we bought a brand new 2003 Forest River Cardinal TT, and didn’t have any issues with it.

I would think this would be something that would have been caught in their quality control. I’ve never heard of anybody having this many problems with leaky fittings.

if your CW is like most CWs(lousy), you can contact FR for a different local dealer.
or use an independent RV shop or mobile RV tech. you just have to get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed.

Dan,

Thank you for the heads up. I’m going to contact CW today to try to get it in to them. Hopefully it won’t be too painful.

It would be unusual for it not to be painful, when dealing with CW service.🤤

The two loose fitting leaks were somewhat uncommon.
The black tank flush leak pretty common.

The lines from the black tank flush connection on the outside go to an anti-siphon/back flow valve that is usually mounted under the bathroom sink or behind the shower wall. It needs to be higher than the toilet for code.

There have been several reports of them leaking and flooding the bathroom area.

It will look something like this...

We bought a 2018 Forest River Toy hauler and have not pulled it once...the reason being it keeps leaking water under the shower. We took it back to the dealer and they said they fixed it, but it still leaks and now we had a RV guy come to fix it and he has been here three times, we have spent 600 bucks and it still leaks. I am furious and deeply regret buying this brand of RV.

Sorry you’ve had that much trouble. Sounds like they need to put something on the threads of these twist on fittings to hold them in place, and do something to make the black water clean out fitting more robust.

Thanks for the photos, and discriptions. If they’ve have had the amount of issues with those plastic devices you would think they would make them out of another material or more durable.

They do.
Brass valves are available but then your R/V would cost like $1 more
