Fresh tank drain improvement

My 2020 Rockwood has a 1.25" gate valve to drain the fresh tank. It's a huge improvement over the old screw-in plug but I just saw a 2021 model which is improved even more. Instead of having the valve at the bottom of the tank 3' in from the side, they put a 90° elbow there, extended the drain to the side of the trailer, and put the gate valve there. It looks much more convenient.

I haven't looked to see if the drain pipe is glued or threaded. If threaded, I'll be doing the same myself this week. I may do it if it's glued but it has to have enough excess pipe to glue the elbow to after cutting it off.
