Fresh water gauge reads incorrect

Have a 2010 Rock Wood 8317 RKSS. When the fresh water tank is empty the information panel shows any where from 1/3 to 2/3. Is there a way to calibrate the sending unit?

Simple answer is no

Based on my experience - bad readings for the fresh water tank were due to being out of "level." See that your camper is level and check the water level on the panel - this might help.

We also found that the fresh water tank "pickup" line was about 1" above the bottom of the tank. This left a lot of water in the tank - when the pump was still trying to pull water. We relocated the water pickup line to the bottom of the tank, where the drain valve is located. This allowed us to pull every last drop from the water tank before being dry.

Times a million. Almost never see fresh water tank problems that were not either "out of level" or GROSSLY contaminated with algae and slime.

Level THE TANK (you may need to pull down a piece of belly covering to see it) and check again.

My fresh water gauge has read empty from day one! Full, half, empty doesn't matter it still reads full. Grey and black work fine. With a covered under body It's not easy to investigate.

OOPS I meant to say it reads empty all the time!

Empty all the time is the easiest to troubleshoot.

The ground wire is broken or disconnected.

Look at the ground probe on the fresh water tank or at the connection where all the ground probes come together (may be near the black/gray tank or behind the monitor panel).

Just went through correcting this problem on our trailer. Made up a pickup tube and replace the fitting at the tank outlet with the new pickup tube.
Worked out great. I know get at least 4-5 gal more out before it sucks air. Not sure why they build tanks with out sumps in them.
